Recap of the French-Egyptian Assises on Scientific and Academic Cooperation
The Assises marked a new scale of cooperation between France and Egypt. Organized on President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit, they brought together over 100 institutions, including 40 French higher education establishments, and resulted in the signing of 42 cooperation agreements.
Preparatory discussions for the Assises identified more than 70 projects in the process of being launched, in various forms: satellite campuses, double-degree programs, university franchises, and more.
Since then, several new universities have expressed their desire to join the Assises’ momentum, and missions have been organized in the following months to facilitate connections between partner institutions.
The Assises also included a key institutional component, with speeches delivered by the two Ministers of Higher Education and Research, Mr. Philippe Baptiste and Dr. Ayman Ashour, who reaffirmed the strategic vision shared by France and Egypt.
